Actress Akanksha Puri, astrologer Bebika Dhurve and actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s estranged wife Aaliya Siddiqui became the first three contestants to be sent to jail — a prison-like area in the Bigg Boss house — following a ‘jail task’ on Wednesday for allegedly being fake on the Salman Khan-hosted reality show Bigg Boss OTT 2, streaming on JioCinema.

According to the live feed of Bigg Boss OTT 2, Bigg Boss asked the housemates to name two people they believe are fake in the house. The contestants with the highest votes were sent to jail.

However, Bigg Boss added a twist in the task. The viewers watching the live feed were asked to cast their votes too. If the choice of the housemates matched with that of the audience, Bigg Boss would double the weekly BB currency currently in possession of the housemates. However, the amount would be reduced to zero if the audience’s decision differs from that of the contestants.

Every contestant entered the Bigg Boss house this season with a certain amount of BB currency. From bed to ration, they have to spend this money to avail any service within the house.

The housemates gathered in the living room and captain Falaq Naaz asked them to take turns at naming two contestants for jail term. Majority of the contestants named Akanksha and Bebika during the task. At the end of the task, Bigg Boss gave special powers to Falak to name an additional contestant who should go to jail. She nominated Aaliya.

However, none of the three contestants matched the audience’s choice and the weekly BB currency of the house was slashed to zero.
