The 16th season of the Salman Khan-hosted Bigg Boss has been extended by four more weeks — up to February 12 next year — after the reality show witnessed a significant increase in viewership.
Bigg Boss 16 began its journey on October 1 and was initially supposed to run for three months. But the love and adulation received from the viewers has contributed to the latest extension.
One of the longest-running non-fiction television reality shows in India, Bigg Boss has introduced interesting twists along with interesting contestants every season.
After joining the reality show as a host in 2010, there’s been no looking back for Salman Khan. The Bollywood star hosts the Weekend Ka Vaar episodes in Bigg Boss on Fridays and Saturdays.
MC Stan, Soundarya Sharma, Nimrit Kaur Ahluwalia, Tina Datta, Shalin Bhanot, Archana Gautam, Priyanka Chahar Chowdhury, Ankit Gupta, Sajid Khan, Shiv Thakare, Sumbul Touqeer, Sreejita De and Vikkas Manaktala are the current housemates on the show.
Meanwhile, much-loved contestant Abdu Rozik had to leave the house last week after receiving a life-changing work opportunity. He, however, could make a return soon to the Bigg Boss 16 house. Whether he will still compete for the prize or return as a guest will be decided by the other housemates.
