Varun Dhawan sports a never-before-seen avatar with a heavy beard and long locks in a fresh poster of Jawan maker Atlee’s upcoming film Baby John, dropped by the makers on Thursday.

“This bloodbath is about to get bloodier. The ultimate action entertainer #BabyJohn starring #VarunDhawan is releasing this Christmas,” Baby John producer Murad Khetani wrote alongside the poster on Instagram.

The poster is red-and-yellow tinted and features Varun gazing into the camera with a deadly expression.

Another poster was shared by the makers on Wednesday to announce the film’s Christmas release this year. In the poster, Varun features in a black sleeveless shirt and jeans, surrounded by a group of shadowy figures holding weapons.

“Christmas this year just got merrier. Brace yourselves for Baby John releasing on December 25th,” reads the caption of the post.

The teaser of the film dropped by the makers earlier this year hints at a gory thriller, inspired by Indian mythologies.

A poster of the film shared back in February shows a shirtless Varun pointing a gun at his enemy amidst heavy rains. Varun’s look might remind one of Keanu Reeves’ character from the Hollywood blockbuster film franchise John Wick.

Marking Keerthy Suresh’s Bollywood debut, Baby John also stars Wamiqa Gabbi, Jackie Shroff and Rajpal Yadav. It is directed by A. Kaleeswaran.

Baby John is Atlee’s second Bollywood movie after Jawan starring Shah Rukh Khan last year.

Varun was recently seen in a cameo role in the comedy-horror Munjya, helmed by Aditya Sarpotda. Last year, he starred in Nitesh Tiwari’s action-romance film Bawaal alongside Janhvi Kapoor.

Presented by JioStudios, A For Apple Studios and Cine1 Studios Production, Baby John is slated to release in theatres on December 25.
