If you haven’t yet come across a MaAn Reel on Instagram, you’re missing out on a lot of fun. MaAn is short for Anupamaa and Anuj, the lead pair of the StarPlus TRP-topping show Anupamaa, played by Rupali Ganguly and Gaurav Khanna. The popular screen couple often take time out of their busy schedules to create Instagram reels for their fans to celebrate what they call ‘MaAn day’.

Here are our favourite MaAn moments featuring Rupali and Gaurav.

This reel where Rupali and Gaurav, dressed as Anupamaa and Anuj, swing to Kishore Kumar and Asha Bhosle’s golden number Paanch rupaiya baara aana has crossed one million views. The reel was shot at the Kapadia household — on the sets of the StarPlus show — where Anupamaa now lives with the Kapadia family and her adopted daughter, Choti Anu.

In this one, Rupali serenades Gaurav to Sunidhi Chauhan’s song, Sajna ve sajna, from Chameli. A romantic moment complete with coy blushes.

This screen hit pair surely knows how to match steps. Rupali and Gaurav dance on the beach to Sadhana Sargam’s hit number Saat samundar paar from Vishwatma, sending out a ’90s vibe with the sari pallu fluttering in the breeze.

On another MaAn day, the duo romanced each other to Amaal Mallik’s Hua hai aaj pehli baar (Sanam Re). Rupali usually takes the lead in the reels, but in this one Gaurav took charge, looking dapper in blue Aviators and a black buttoned-down shirt.

To celebrate nine months of #MaAn day, Rupali did a reel for her co-star and onscreen husband Gaurav, using a trending reel sound. Fans lapped up this cheeky video where Rupali calls Gaurav a ‘haseen ladka’ and smiles naughtily.

Anupamaa and Anuj’s wedding on the show created a buzz – after her divorce from Vanraj, Anupamaa was getting married to the man who had secretly loved her for many years. Dressed in wedding attire, Gaurav and Rupali as Anuj and Anupamaa looked like beaming newly-weds. Anuj lip-synced to Kumar Sanu’s Tare hain barati from Virasat and Rupali wrote, “This one is for our digital family and all you people out there who have showered MaAn with such immense love.”

Displaying absolute old-school feels, Gaurav and Rupali jived like Shah Rukh Khan and Shilpa Shetty to Kitaabein bohot si from Baazigar. And they chose a classroom, with Rupali playing a student and Gaurav, a teacher scribbling on the board.

The partnership of Anupamaa and Anuj in the StarPlus family drama is a lot like Raj and Simran from Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge. Here, Rupali and Gaurav re-enact a fun scene featuring Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol from the film.
