Actor Anshuman Jha talked extensively about his preparations for action sequences in his home production Lakadbaggha at the trailer-launch event of the action thriller on January 3.

The 37-year-old actor, who plays an animal lover vigilante in the movie, trained with Tsahi Shemesh (trainer of The Avengers cast) in New York before filming.

Anshuman, known for playing a key role in the MX Player show Mastram, learned the Israeli martial arts form Krav Maga for performing action scenes in Lakadbaggha without a body double. “I wanted to do something which pushes me physically. While shooting the action sequences in Lakadbaggha, I got a cut on my chest and on my head,” said the actor, who made his film debut with Dibakar Banerjee’s LSD: Love, Sex Aur Dhokha in 2010.

Lakadbaggha has a solid international crew in French DOP Jean Marc Selva and Belgian composer Simon Fransquet. Its action sequences are managed by the Ong-Bak 2 team of Ketcha Khamphakdee.

Directed by Victor Mukherjee, the action thriller is set in Kolkata. It also stars Ridhi Dogra as a sleuth and Paresh Pahuja as the antagonist alongside Milind Soman and Kharaj Mukherjee.

Lakadbaggha premiered at the Kolkata International Film Festival (KIFF) and also screened at New York Film Festival. The film will travel to the South East Asian Film Festival and will release in Indian cinemas on January 13.
