Amazon Studios has recruited the former Marvel Entertainment chief creative officer Joe Quesada to focus more on comic book films and TV shows.

Taking to Twitter, Prime Video announced the news on Friday. “Amazon Studios signs an exclusive first look deal with former Marvel Editor-In-Chief Joe Quesada,” the tweet reads.

Quesada, who is also a former Marvel comic book editor, reposted the tweet. “The folks at Amazon have been amazing, and we're just getting started. This is going to be a blast! There's more news to come, so stay tuned. No, seriously, there is. A lot more,” he wrote in the caption.

In his 24 years with Marvel, Quesada helped them produce storylines that later became big-screen arcs like Civil War, Age of Ultron and Guardians of the Galaxy. He developed characters like Ms Marvel and Miles Morales. During his time as Marvel creative chief, he was a key player in the first group of Marvel Studios movies and TV series and is credited as an exec producer on the likes of Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Agents of SHIELD.

Amazon is already working on a slate of Sony-owned Marvel projects with studio-based Phil Lord and Chris Miller. The streamer has teamed up with former Walking Dead showrunner Angela Kang for Silk: Spider Society, the first of an expected slate based on the studio’s universe that features more than 900 characters.
