Sai Pallavi has strongly refuted recent reports suggesting she adopted vegetarianism to prepare for the role of Sita in Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana that marks the actress’s Bollywood debut alongside Ranbir Kapoor.

The controversy began when a Tamil daily claimed Sai Pallavi had given up non-vegetarian food for the film, further alleging she travels with a dedicated team of cooks to ensure she eats only vegetarian meals.

Addressing these rumours, Sai Pallavi on Wednesday shared a statement on X, condemning the baseless reports. “Most of the times, Almost every-time, I choose to stay silent whenever I see baseless rumours/ fabricated lies/ incorrect statements being spread with or without motives(God knows) but it’s high-time that I react as it keeps happening consistently and doesn’t seem to cease; especially around the time of my films’ releases/ announcements/ cherish-able moments of my career,” she wrote.

“Next time I see any “reputed” page or media/ individual carrying a cooked up crappy story in the name of news or gossip then you will hear from me legally! Period,” the actress warned.

Sai Pallavi was last seen in the Tamil biographical action film Amaran, alongside Sivakarthikeyan. Based on the book series India's Most Fearless: True Stories of Modern Military Heroes by Shiv Aroor and Rahul Singh, the Tamil-language biographical war film featured Sivakarthikeyan as Major Mukund Varadarajan and Sai Pallavi as his wife.

Ramayana, a magnum opus, boasts an ensemble cast including Ranbir Kapoor, Ravi Dubey, Sunny Deol, and Kannada actor Yash. The ambitious project is slated for a two-part release, with the first part expected to hit theaters in 2026.
