Actress Alia Bhatt championed sustainable fashion by repeating her 2022 mehendi ceremony outfit to Manish Malhotra’s Diwali party on Tuesday.

The Jigra actress, who has re-worn her wedding outfits on several occasions in the past, looked stunning in a pink lehenga choli made from 180 textile patches.

She took to her Instagram stories and shared two selfies flaunting her look. “Aaj ka look,” she captioned a mirror selfie.

This time, Alia chose minimal styling and makeup. She accessorised her look with gold-and-diamond chandbalis, a matching ring and kadhas. For her makeup, she chose blush-tinted cheeks, glossy pink lipstick and fluttery lashes. Alia’s sister Shaheen opted for a turquoise-and-green anarkali kurta set.

The lehenga choli was designed by Manish Malhotra for Alia and Ranbir Kapoor’s mehendi ceremony. “The custom touches reminisce about her journey and depict symbolic elements of her memories. Inscribed through Kashmiri and Chikankari threads, the passionate 3000-hour intricate handwork of #Mijwan women features a fuchsia pink Lehenga and a blouse embellished in real gold and silver nakshi and kora flowers, and vintage gold metal sequins from kutchh,” Manish had written about the outfit alongside pictures of Alia from her mehendi ceremony.

“The patches are woven together using a couture technique of cross-stitches with three tar and six tar anchors. Edged in real gold zari and appliques, this handwoven silk ensemble also carries Banarasi brocades, jacquard, bandhani, Kachha Resham knots, and some scraps from brides' earlier outfits and detailing from #ManishMalhotraArchives. Every love story is unique,” he added.

Last year, Alia also repeated her wedding sari designed by Sabyasachi at the National Film Awards, which she attended with her husband Ranbir Kapoor.
