Akshay Kumar-starrer Rakhsha Bandhan, directed by Aanand L. Rai is all set to release on August 11, an auspicious day to celebrate the bond between siblings.
Akshay took to Instagram to announce the release date of the film. Rakhsha Bandhan will be his second outing with Rai after Atrangi Re in which he starred alongside Sara Ali Khan and Dhanush.
The story, written by Kanika Dhillon and Himanshu Sharma, revolves around a small-town family, in which the elder brother (Akshay Kumar) supports his four sisters. Bhumi Pednekar plays his love interest.
It will be interesting to watch Akshay’s chemistry with the four, young fresh faces who play his sisters – Sadiaa Khateeb, Smrithi Srikanth, Sahejmeen Kaur and Deepika Khanna.
Himesh Reshammiya has composed the music for Rakhsha Bandhan.
Akshay is supposed to promote the film extensively after his two not-so-successful films – Bachchan Pandey and Samrat Prithviraj.
Raksha Bandhan is touted to clash with the release date of Aamir Khan’s Forrest Gump remake Laal Singh Chaddha.
