Prabhas, Kriti Sanon and Saif Ali Khan-starrer Adipurush witnessed a further dip in its box office collection on Day 5 in Indian theatres, earning Rs 10.8 crore in all languages, nearly half of its domestic Day 4 collection of Rs 20 crore, according to trade reports.
The five-day total collection of the Om Raut-directed adaptation of the Ramayana stands at Rs 247.9 crore at the domestic box office, as per figures shared by Box Office India.
Adipurush released in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam languages on June 16 to a phenomenal opening day collection of Rs 86 crore nett. It had a blockbuster weekend, raking in Rs 129 crore nett at the domestic box office. However, the collections saw a massive drop on Monday, with the VFX-heavy film managing to earn only Rs 20 crore nett.
The Hindi version of Adipurush collected around Rs 37.25 crore nett on Day 1, followed by Rs 38 crore nett on Day 2 and Rs 35 crore nett on Day 3 (Sunday). The earnings dropped to a single-digit figure on Monday, with the Hindi version of the film minting only Rs 9 crore nett. On Tuesday, the collections further fell to Rs 5.5 crore nett for the Hindi version.
However, the Om Raut directorial is approaching the Rs 400-crore milestone worldwide. The film has grossed Rs 375 crore worldwide in four days, the makers claimed in a tweet on Tuesday.
Adipurush — featuring Prabhas as Raghava, Saif as Lankesh and Kriti as Janaki — has been embroiled in multiple controversies since its release. Poor VFX, subpar writing and colloquial dialogues of the film have invited criticism from the audiences and inspired hilarious memes on the internet.
