Actress Adah Sharma is set to play the titular detective in Bengali filmmaker Abhirup Ghosh’s debut Hindi directorial Reeta Sanyal, streaming platform Disney+ Hotstar announced on Wednesday.
“Tehelka machaane aa rahi hai #ReetaSanyal streaming October 14th on @disneyplushotstar ,” the streamer wrote on Instagram.
The series follows Reeta as she navigates the tricky waters of justice, solving cases with her sharp mind and adaptive personality. As a detective with a chameleon-like ability to blend into various situations, Reeta will keep the audience on edge as she tackles high-stakes cases.
The show’s tagline reads, “With her sharp mind and chameleon-like skills, will she be able to steer through the tumultuous game of justice?”
Produced by Rajeshwar Nair and Krishnan Iyer under Keylight Productions, Reeta Sanyal is based on a character created by renowned writer Amit Khan. The series is directed by Abhirup Ghosh and features an impressive cast, including Rahul Dev, Ankur Rathee and Manik Papneja, who will take on key roles alongside Adah Sharma.
Reeta Sanyal marks Abhirup’s foray into Hindi content. He is known for helming shows like Rahasya Romancha Series and Byadh.
“A work very close to my heart. My return to the pulp genre after quite some time. And my first work in the Hindi language,” Abhirup wrote, sharing the show’s motion monster on social media.
Reeta Sanyal is set to stream on Disney+ Hotstar from October 14 and will be available free for mobile users.
