Keep your eyes and ears focused on singer-songwriter Amelia Moore, the young Georgia-born musician whose single Vinegar made quite a splash on the pop music scene earlier this year.

Now, Apple Music has announced that the singer-songwriter is the newest name in its Up Next programme, which is Apple Music’s monthly artiste initiative geared towards identifying, showcasing and elevating rising talent.

Growing up in the conservative town of Lawrenceville, she expressed herself by experimenting with make-up, fashion, and music, even though she got ridiculed for it. “Because the people around me made me feel like an idiot for dreaming big, I did not really believe in myself at all,” she has said.

It was a mentorship from choreographer Dacia James Lewis that helped her power on. “I feel like I could break down my life into three very clear parts — religion, reeducation, and rebirth,” she has told Apple Music.

Moore’s personality shines through her track Vinegar as much as it does through her other number — Sweet and Sour. “They two completely different sides of my personality. I can be dark, sexy, and confident but I can also be a complete mess. Same universe and musical direction, just a sonic mood swing,” she has told Notion.

The 21-year-old reached the Apple Music charts for her first time in early 2022 with singles Vinegar, Moves and Crybaby, reaching the Daily Top 100 in countries across the globe. Upon its release in early June, Moore’s debut EP —Teaching A Robot to Love — via Capitol Records was the second biggest debut pop album of the week, and in the past four months, her streams have increased more than 110 per cent on Apple Music worldwide, with her songs featured on major editorial playlists including A-List Pop and Pop Chill.

“There’s something magical in her isolated upbringing that allows her to have unfiltered and pure creativity and concepts and it’s refreshing to see an artist who has made art purely from her perspective.
