Award-winning film director Goutam Ghose (left) launched veteran architect Dulal Mukherjee’s book Bridging Lines and Roots, a voluminous semi-biographical manual replete with pictures of iconic buildings in the city and beyond that he has designed over the period of 50-plus years. It also contains his hand-drawn sketches that are obsolete now. Praising Mukherjee, Ghose said, “It’s a wonderful book reflecting the journey of Dulal da. I remember the opening day of Biswa Bangla Convention Centre. I entered and I was awestruck. The first question that came to my mind was who has done it? And I immediately knew it must be Dulal da. His range of work from that huge convention centre to Santiniketan’s mud house is so wide and interesting. Dulal da creates symphony in space.”

The launch was also attended by the chairman of Ambuja Neotia group, Harshavardhan Neotia; chairman of Merlin Group of Companies, Sushil Mohta; and managing director of HIDCO, Debashish Sen among others.
