Apple, ahead of announcing its fourth quarter fiscal results on November 2, will unveil new products on October 30.
The title of the online event — ‘Scary Fast’ — doesn’t give away anything about what the company plans to launch but there are hints.
Given the longer-than-usual shipping times of the iMac and MacBook Pro (14 and 16 inch) listed on Apple’s website, it points to a device refresh cycle.
The new MacBook Pros, if launched, will come in around 11 months after the M2 refresh for those Macs.
As for the iMac, it has been nearly two-and-a-half years since the company introduced the original Apple Silicon model. Further, launching a new iMac will, indirectly, tie in with the 25th anniversary of the all-in-one desktop computer.
Apple’s current chips are named M2 and to boost Mac sales, the company is expected to release the faster M3 chips at some point. Bloomberg has said that MacBook Air models with M3 chips won’t launch until 2024.
Apple held a launch event at its Cupertino headquarters for new iPhones and
Apple Watch models in September.
The quarterly results will shed light on how the company is feeling about the holiday period and the momentum that iPhone 15 sales is gathering.
