Maruti Suzuki India to build nationwide network of fast chargers to boost adoption of EVs

Maruti Suzuki India Limited will build a nationwide network of fast chargers that will be available at the company’s dealerships and service centres.

This was stated by the company as it shared the first teaser for its production ready e-SUV, the e-Vitara, which it will showcase at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025.

“A critical barrier to the adoption of EVs is the lack of accessible charging. To tackle this issue, we are committed to introduce a reliable and comprehensive EV ecosystem alongside the e Vitara,” Partho Banerjee, senior executive officer, marketing and sales, Maruti Suzuki India Limited, said .

“This will include home charging solutions as well as a nationwide network of fast chargers available at Maruti Suzuki dealerships and service touchpoints.

“Our goal is to make EVs accessible, convenient, and appealing to a broader set of customers, and this is exactly what we have set out to achieve with the e Vitara.”

Previously previewed as the eVX concept, this born-electric SUV is Maruti’s first EV for India and will be taking on the likes of the Hyundai Creta EV, launching on January 17, the MG ZS EV, the Tata Curvv and the Mahindra BE 6 SUV.
