Britannia Industries Ltd reports 35.65 per cent rise in consolidated net profit at Rs 455.45 crore

Net sales rose 8.64 per cent to Rs 3,969.84 crore during quarter under review against Rs 3,653.80 crore in year-ago period

Britannia Industries Ltd on Friday reported a 35.65 per cent rise in consolidated net profit at Rs 455.45 crore for the first quarter ended June 2023. The company had posted a net profit of Rs 335.74 crore in the April-June quarter a year ago.

Net sales rose 8.64 per cent to Rs 3,969.84 crore during the quarter under review against Rs 3,653.80 crore in the year-ago period.

Kilburn net rises 145%

Kilburn Engineering, a leading manufacturer of drying equipment for industrial application, posted a 145 per cent rise in net profit in the first quarter of FY24. The company’s PAT went up to Rs 7.09 crore compared with Rs 2.89 crore a year ago.

Income from operations rose 36 per cent to Rs 66.68 crore in Q1FY24 compared with Rs 48.90 crore a year ago.

The operating EBIDTA margin at 17.59 per cent in Q1 was an expansion of 750 basis points due to economy of scale and better product mix.

The order backlog for the firm, where Khaitan family of Williamson Magor Group is a co-pormoter, stood Rs 213 crore which will be executed during this fiscal.

Ranjit Lala, managing director of Kilburn Engineering, said: “The company has made a strong start to the new fiscal resulting from a series of proactive steps taken over the last 12 months. We are reasonably confident of continuing this performance going forward and focusing on higher order inflow in the second half.”

Welspun profit jumps

Welspun Corp has posted a consolidated net profit of Rs 168.45 crore in the June quarter on the back of higher income. It had reported a Rs 95 lakh loss in the year-ago period

The company’s total income rose to Rs 4,118.78 crore from Rs 1,394.51 crore a year ago.

Delhivery loss narrows

Logistics company Delhivery’s net loss has narrowed to Rs 89.5 crore in the June 2023 quarter, mainly due to higher income.

The company had reported a net loss of Rs 399.3 crore a year ago.
