Several shots have been fired at the University of Oklahoma in US' Norman, the college said in a tweet today, reports NDTV. The shooter is still a large.

“There is an active shooter at the Van Vleet Oval. Take immediate action now. Run. Hide. Fight!” the University of Oklahoma said in a tweet.

On Friday, the University of Oklahoma said that they were investigating a potential shooting on its Norman campus and that a shelter in place was activated, reported by Reuters.

In a post on the university's social media account, officials said an active shooter had been reported at the Van Fleet Oval, a street in the center of the campus.

The school in a tweet urged people to "Avoid South Oval area. Shelter in place."
