Dmitri S. Peskov, the Kremlin’s spokesman, said on Tuesday that Russia is closely watching the Nato summit in Vilnius, which he said had already started to demonstrate “a strong anti-Russian attitude.”

Peskov said Russia would analyse developments at the summit and would take measures in response to guarantee its security. In wide-ranging comments on Tuesday, Peskov called France’s decision to supply Ukraine with long-range missiles a mistake.

“Of course, we still have to clarify and figure out what radius we are talking about. But it is from our point of view a mistaken decision fraught with consequences for the Ukrainian side,” Peskov said, referring to France’s announcement on Tuesday that it would provide Ukraine with SCALP air-to-ground missiles that have a range of more than 241km.
