Israel's chief military spokesperson said on Sunday that France was among the countries involved in defending against Iran's overnight attack on Israel, reports Reuters.
"France has very good technology, jets, radar - and I know they were contributing in patrolling airspace," he said, adding that he did not have exact details on whether French jets had shot down any of the missiles launched by Iran.
Earlier, Iran unleashed over 200 drones, cruise missiles, and ballistic missiles towards Israel on Saturday evening, as confirmed by the Israeli military.
This action was taken in response to a deadly Israeli airstrike on the Iranian Embassy complex in Damascus earlier this month.
This attack, marking a significant escalation, is considered the first direct Iranian assault on Israeli soil and signifies a potentially explosive turn in the ongoing covert conflict between the two countries.
