Indian Army chief Manoj Pande paid a courtesy call on Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at her official residence here and held talks with top military commanders on his maiden visit.
The Indian Army chief is on a three-day visit at the invitation of his Bangladesh counterpart General SM Shafiuddin Ahmed.
"General Manoj Pande, PVSM, AVSM, VSM, ADC, COAS Army paid a courtesy call on Hon'ble Prime Minister of Bangladesh," the Indian High Commission in Dhaka tweeted on Tuesday.
"He visited Defence Service Command & Staff College, Mirpur & delivered a lecture on India's Security Perspective to student officers & faculty of Armed Forces War Course," it said.
Earlier, he delivered a lecture on India's security perspective at the Defence Services Command and Staff College, Mirpur, for students of the Armed Forces War Course and officers.
The Army chief also visited and interacted with the members of Bangladesh Institute of Peace Support and Operation Training, a premier institute of Bangladesh training peacekeepers for UN peace operations.
The Indian Army chief is being accompanied by his spouse Archana Pande and a three-member delegation.
Gen Pande will also pay tributes to the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at the Bangabandhu Memorial Museum in Dhanmondi. He will also be visiting various military stations.
