Meta says it has disabled suspect’s Facebook and Instagram accounts

Twitter and Facebook parent Meta said Friday they are deleting any videos of the assassination of former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe that break their rules on harmful content.

Videos showing a gunman firing a double-barrelled weapon twice at Abe were circulating on social media.

Some only show the moments before and after the attack while others show both shots.

Meta said it was deleting videos depicting the moment of the attack and had disabled the suspect’s Facebook and Instagram accounts.

Colombo: Lanka IOC, the subsidiary of Indian Oil Corporation in Sri Lanka, on Friday announced that it was suspending fuel distribution for two days in view of the mass public protest demanding the resignation of President Gotabaya Rajapaksa on Saturday.

The LIOC has been the only retailer since the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation pumps went dry on June 27 due to the forex crisis that has led to an economic crisis.
