The woman had lodged a complaint with the police station in the last week of August.

“The complainant’s mobile phone had been flooded with indecent proposals and objectionable calls.... One of the numbers from which she got frequent calls turned out to be that of a person known to her,” an officer of Baruipur police district said. The number belonged to the doctor.

During investigation, cops tracked down the place where photocopies of the woman’s photographs had been done.

“The second person is not directly involved in the crime, but he could have stopped the accused or alerted the police. Since he remained silent, he, too, is a party to the crime,” an officer said.

The two have booked for voyeurism, outraging the modesty of a woman through words and gestures and common intention. The charges carry a maximum punishment of seven years in jail.
