Three persons with three improvised firearms arrested by Bengal police in Malda

Three persons with three improvised firearms have been arrested from two different locations in Malda town in the past 24 hours, police said.

On Wednesday morning, a team of Kaliachak police station nabbed Ramzan Hossain and Razikul Sheikh from Danga, a road crossing in Malda town.

“As we searched the duo, two improvised single-shooter pipe-guns and some live ammunitions were recovered from their possession,” said a police officer.

In another incident, a 35-year-old youth was arrested on Tuesday night after a single-shooter gun was seized from him. The police arrested Swapan Mandal from Jagannathtola area under Bhutni police station.

A senior police officer said: “Cases have been registered against the arrested duo under the Arms Act. A probe is on to gather more information about them.
