Three persons were found dead in Cooch Behar and Siliguri on Friday under mysterious circumstances.
Police have recovered the bodies and are probing the cases.
In the Petla area under the Dinhata police station of Cooch Behar, a 45-year-old man who was a fisherman by occupation was found dead near his pond on Friday.
His family members alleged that he had been murdered. Police recovered the body and have initiated a probe.
Sources said Abdul Khaleque Mia, used to breed fish in his own pond near his home. Last night, he went to guard the pond so that miscreants would not steal fish from the water body. Today morning, his body was found nearby, with multiple injury marks on his head.
In Chandamari, a locality in Cooch Behar-I block, the body of Sanjit Dutta (47), a trader, was recovered from Kalabhanga, a local stream, today morning.
He was missing for the past couple of days.
Yesterday afternoon, his bicycle was found near the stream. Today, his family members and locals got into the stream and found his body. They suspect that while crossing the stream through a temporary bamboo bridge, he might have slipped into the water and died by drowning.
In Siliguri, a team from Matigara police station recovered the body of Anil Sahani, a 25-year-old youth from the Panchnoi river flowing through the Tulsinagar area. Some locals spotted the body and informed the police, who reached the spot and recovered it.
The police are waiting for post-mortem reports to know the cause of his death.
