Malda: Three Madhyamik examinees held with mobile phones during surprise check inside venue

Three Madhyamik examinees entered their exam venue with mobile phones on Monday, the day of their history exam, in Malda.

Sources said three students of Sovanagar High School entered the exam hall at Raigram High School in Englishbazar block of the district with phones that were detected by members of the district monitoring team (DMT) during a surprise check midway into their exam.

"Their mobile phones and the answer scripts were seized. No images of the history question paper were found on their phones,” said a DMT member. "However, the students were barred from writing the answer script further."

"Whether they would be forbidden from appearing in the remaining examinations will be decided by the WBBSE officials," the DMT official said.

Six more examinees attempted to enter the exam venue with phones at Panchkoritola High School in Kaliachak-II block on Monday, but were allowed to write their papers as phones were detected before the start of the exam.

On Friday and Saturday, Bengali and English Madhyamik papers were leaked at some venues in Malda district.
