“Wednesday late evening, we had a meeting of the college council where it was decided that these two doctors would not be allowed to enter the campus. There are reports that though they were not associated with the medical college, they would visit frequently and hold meetings with students late at night. There are also allegations that they introduced a culture of threat here,” said college principal Nirmal Kumar Mondal.

The two doctors are Dipayan Basu, the block medical officer of health of Dinhata-I block, and Sangbed Bhowmik, posted at a primary health centre in Dewanhat of Cooch Behar.
