Students writing the 2019 ICSE and ISC examinations will get online admit cards with customised schedules attached to them, Gerry Arathoon, the secretary and chief executive of the Council for Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE), said on Wednesday.
The schedules will only mention the papers that individual candidates will be writing alongside the dates.
In the ISC curriculum, English is a compulsory paper and students are required to pick five more subjects. The admit cards of all ISC examinees will, therefore, have a schedule that mentions English along with the five subjects of their choice rather than the entire list of papers and dates.
This is the first time that the council will be issuing online admit cards. An admit card would until now be issued only offline. The online system is meant to spare students the hassle of visiting their schools before the exams to collect their admit cards. “The council constantly endeavours to upgrade its systems and procedures to make them more school and student-friendly. With this objective in mind, the council has embarked on various new initiatives,” Arathoon said.
Instructions on how to download online admit cards will be sent to the schools and students. “Students can use the hours saved to prepare for their exams,” said Sujoy Biswas, principal of Ram Mohan Mission High School.
