Sixty-four silver and bronze coins apparently minted in 1905, 1906, and in 1943 were found at Dabar near Bamangola on Friday.

Sources said Tarani Kanti Mondal was renovating his old house when the coins were found.

He informed the police about the finding of the coins. The police arrived and recovered the coins.

"The coins were sent to the Archeological Survey of India through the district administration to determine their historical importance and current valuation,” Mondal said.
