The centres have come up at Srabannagar in Ward 18, Debasis Colony in Ward 24, Prankrishna Colony in Ward 28 and on the premises of Sukantanagar Primary School in Ward 38.

Sources in the civic body said the centres would provide comprehensive primary healthcare services to the residents of respective areas. Maternal and child healthcare services, free essential drugs and diagnostic facilities will be available at the centres.

The SMC will spend Rs 10 crore to renovate a portion of the stadium. On Thursday, soil testing was carried out near the Focin block (the main block) of the stadium.

“A portion of the stadium where some offices related to sports are located will be renovated in two phases. Work in the first phase will commence on March 5. Also, we will carry out a thorough renovation of the main block,” said the mayor.
