Rotary Club Howrah on Saturday felicitated 10 traditional heritage family Durga Pujas which are more than 75 years old.

The event was part of Rotary Howrah’s 75th anniversary celebrations and its Public Image Initiation Project. The heads of the families were felicitated with uttariyos and mementos.

The Pujas felicitated were Pandit Murari Mohan Shastrir Barir Pujo (300 years), BK Pal-er Barir Pujo (300 years), Bose Barir Pujo (200 years), Mallick Barir Pujo (136 years), Bandyopadhyay Barir Pujo (120 years), Bhattacharjee Barir Pujo, Uttar Howrah Ghosh Barir Pujo (239 years), Girish Bhabaner Shib-Durga Puja (75 years), Banerjee Barir Pujo (more than 200 years) and Roy Chowdhury Barir Pujo (339 years). The event was coordinated by Rotary Howrah past president Monojit Sen.The club team had Rotary Howrah president Rabindranath Datta, secretary Subhrangshu Datta and past presidents Shibnath Dey, Monojit Sen, Prajapati Mondal, DK Das and Santanu Banerjee.
