Calcutta High Court will decide on July 2 whether it will resume on that day or later the daily hearing of a petition by IPS officer Rajeev Kumar for quashing the CBI’s proceedings against him in the Saradha case.
Justice Asha Arora announced the date of the daily hearing when CBI counsel Y.J. Dastoor mentioned before the judge on Wednesday that the vacation bench of the court had on May 30 sent the case to the regular bench for disposal.
Dastoor said the vacation bench had said the case should be disposed by July 10 Kumar’s advocate Milan Mukherjee requested Justice Arora to fix the matter for hearing on July 2.
After hearing both the parties, Justice Arora asked the CBI counsel to mention the case before her on July 2 when the judge would decide if the hearing of the case would resume on or after that day.
