Rajiva Sinha, the chairman of the West Bengal Industrial Development Corporation (WBIDC), said here on Wednesday that entrepreneurs and producers in north Bengal who made varied products, especially which are unique to the region, needed to focus on their branding.
He also said they should get those items registered under the intellectual property rights (under the Controller General of Patents, Designs and Trade Marks) before merchandising the products.
Sinha was here today to attend an interactive session hosted by the north Bengal chapter of the Confederation of Indian Industry. He said it was necessary to augment the scale of production of those items, whether agro-based or other.
