Poll consultant Prashant Kishor on Thursday met Mamata Banerjee at Nabanna amid murmurs that the talks had been necessitated by the clamour for “cut money refunds” in Bengal.
Earlier this month, Trinamul sources had confirmed that the consultant — who has been associated with several successful election campaigns and is now vice-president of BJP ally JDU — had a “done deal” to work with the chief minister. “Kishor came with Diamond Harbour MP Abhishek Banerjee. He was with the chief minister for an hour,” said a source.
The source could not throw light on what was discussed. After the talks, Kishor left with Abhishek.
Mamata’s diktat on June 18 to Trinamul councillors to refund cut money had stirred speculation that the idea came from Kishor. “The chief minister will hold a news conference on Friday. Her message will indicate whether Kishor has given any new suggestion,” said the source.
