Police on Tuesday arrested two persons for allegedly depositing five counterfeit notes, in denomination of Rs 500, at a nationalised bank here on June 5.
Sources said the manager of the Pundibari branch of a nationalised bank had on June 5 filed a police complaint alleging that Janatulla Haque, a resident of Sajherpar-Ghoramara, had deposited some cash at the bank, which included the counterfeit notes.
Later, the police arrested Haque and Afajuddin Miya, another local resident. A probe is on, they said.
