Some important stations include Kamakhya, Goalpara Town, Bilasipara, Gauripur, Golakganj, Tufanganj, New Cooch Behar, Mathabhanga, New Changrabandha and Jalpaiguri Road.

From NJP, the train will depart every Wednesday and Friday at 11.15am to reach Guwahati at 7.30pm on the same day.

From Guwahati, the special train will leave at 11.55pm on every Tuesday and Thursday and reach NJP at 8.15am the next day.

The special train will have air-conditioned, sleeper and general seating coaches, said an official in the NJP.

“Thousands of people regularly travel between north Bengal and Assam for various reasons. The special train will help such passengers. As of now, it has been decided to run the train till 2024-end,” said a railway official.
