The North Bengal University (NBU) is all set to host its first-ever NBU Campus Carnival 2024 (NBUCC 2024) on December 18.
The event, varsity sources said, is the first-of-its-kind initiative that aims to foster creativity, entrepreneurship, and community engagement among students, research scholars, and local artisans.
“For the first time, we are organising such an event. This carnival aims to develop entrepreneurship skills among students and also provide a platform for farmers and people making hand-crafted items. We are hopeful that everyone will benefit from this initiative,” NBU registrar Nupur Das said.
She said the event would provide an opportunity for participants to exhibit their innovative skills and would feature a wide range of sustainable agricultural and floricultural products, handicrafts, and paintings.
The carnival will be organised in collaboration with the Centre of Floriculture and Agri-Business Management (Cofam) of NBU and the Border Security Force (BSF). Local farmers and craftsmen have been invited to showcase their produce.
“A total of 25 stalls will be set up, featuring the participation of over 10 farmers, 20 students, and four departments of the NBU. Around 50 students from various communities will perform cultural activities,” said a source.
