North Bengal University launches five-day digital marketing training programme

The department of management of the North Bengal University (NBU) launched a five-day digital marketing training programme on Monday in collaboration with the Development and Facilitation Office (DFO) of the Union ministry of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSME).

Sanmoy Mallick, who heads the management department at the varsity, 25 individuals from different walks of life have joined the programme.

“Among them, 60 per cent are women. Training will be free to women, as well as individuals from SC, ST and OBC communities,” he said. "Others have to pay a nominal charge of 400."

Mallick underscored the importance of digital marketing. “As businesses are increasingly transitioning to online platforms, understanding digital marketing strategies is vital. Through interactive workshops, case studies and practical sessions, participants will learn how to build a strong online presence and leverage digital tools to grow their businesses,” Mallick said.

Participants will be taught social media marketing, search engine optimisation, content marketing, email marketing and analytics.

T.C. Lama, the assistant director of DFO's Siliguri branch, also spoke about the growing need for digital marketing in today’s economy.

“As businesses and consumers alike shift toward online platforms, mastering digital marketing has become essential for companies to remain competitive," Lama said.
