The North Bengal State Transport Corporation (NBSTC) launched two chartered buses for tourists on Saturday as the state celebrated the Bengali New Year.

“Each bus has 25 seats. Tourists can hire an entire bus for trips to various destinations in north Bengal. This service will start on April 20. People can make reservations online or offline,” said Dipankar Piplai, the NBSTC managing director.

According to him, NBSTC has introduced a WhatsApp number (9046853300) for it. People can also visit the website www.nbstc.in where a webpage will be created for the service by April 19.

Piplai said tourists often face problems in booking taxis after reaching New Jalpaiguri station, Siliguri's Tenzing Norgay Central Bus Terminus (TNCBT) or Bagdogra airport. Chartered government buses can give tourists a hassle-free and haggle-free ride, he said.
