The marathon would be held on December 10. Athlete Swapna Barman, district police chief Sumit Kumar and others announced the event and unveiled T-shirts, medals and routes and also gave details of the prizes.
The event will have three categories — a 21.1km-run and a 10km run, which are open for male and female runners, and a 10km-run for armed forces. The winner of the 21.1km-run will win a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh.
The marathon will start from Cooch Behar Palace and end at the district police line ground, covering routes fringed with heritage buildings.
