The ship Asia was launched on this day. The ship had made a trip for the British East India Company.

It left Cork in Ireland in August 1820, bound for Bengal, and arrived in Calcutta in January 1821.

It reached Diamond Harbour in March and crossed Saugor inApril.

On its next voyage, it left The Downs and arrived at Hobart Town, in Van Diemen’s Land (Tasmania), Australia, in January 1824.

It carried 150 maleconvicts.

Asia was listed last in 1833.
