On this day Swami Vivekananda worshipped Shri Ramakrishna in a small garden between the Belur Math courtyard and the lawn lying towards the eastern side of the Sri Ramakrishna temple.
The offering was made under a tree when the Math was shifted from Nilambar Mukherjee’s garden house to the present location of Belur Math along the Hooghly.
Several monks began living in the new Math building from December 9. On January 2, 1899, the Math finally shifted entirely to the present address.
