On Tuesday, Singh and her male associates were allegedly seen hurling concrete chunks and bricks targeting the police near the Babughat crossing.

“This woman was captured on video and could be identified with the help of source information,” said an officer.

She was picked up near Jinjirabazar in Maheshtala, an officer said.

Like Singh, many others indulged in violence on the streets on the pretext of a peaceful protest.

Multiple videos had emerged showing a woman resembling Singh, wearing white sneakers, collecting bricks and concrete chunks from the roads and throwing them like projectiles towards the police.

The police also arrested two men seen in the videos and identified them as Subrata Das, a Watgunge resident, and Jiten from Konnagar.

Das was seen in a video with Singh wearing a black shirt with all the shirt buttons removed baring his chest and pelting stones.

All three have been arrested in connection with the attack on sergeant Debasish Chakraborty who has a critical left eye injury.

Thirty-six police personnel were injured in Tuesday’s violence.

The police said they were identifying others from video footage. An officer said they were making arrests based on photographic evidence.

The number of arrests crossed 150 on Thursday.
