The two who had been admitted to SSKM Hospital were shifted from the critical care unit (CCU) to the observation ward on Thursday afternoon.

The one admitted to Ramkrishna Mission Seva Pratisthan is likely to be discharged on Friday.

The doctors called off their 17-day fast late on Monday evening following a meeting with chief minister Mamata Banerjee.

The doctors who were discharged during the day were Snigdha Hazra, Sayantani Ghosh Hazra and Alolika Ghorui.

“We have prescribed medicines for Snigdha Hazra and also advised her to rest for at least two weeks. Her phosphate and magnesium levels are quite low,” said an official at Medical College Kolkata.

Sayantani Ghosh Hazra and Alolika Ghorui have been advised to take semi-solid food.

“There is a metabolic derangement and metabolic encephalopathy in everyone’s body because of the prolonged fasting,” the official said.

An official at SSKM Hospital said Arnab Mukherjee and Spandan Chowdhury were shifted from the CCU to the observation ward.

“Their electrolytes are improving but they are too weak to be discharged,” said an SSKM official.

Parichay Panda, admitted to Ramkrishna Mission Seva Pratisthan, said: “My condition is stable and I started taking solid food on Wednesday night. I will be discharged from the hospital on Friday.”

He said he would attend the mass convention to be held at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital on Saturday.
