The parents of the young doctor who was raped and murdered at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital have opened a Facebook page and posted in faltering Hindi a video appealing for justice.

Earlier, the parents had been heard speaking only in Bengali.

Asked why he changed his language of communication, the father told The Telegraph: “I wanted to reach out to people across the country, not just in Bengal. Hindi is understood everywhere.”

The video on the Facebook page, “Truth and Justice: Voice for RG KAR Victim” starts with an introductory note: “I am the father of the RG Kar rape and murder victim.”

“It has been four months but I am yet to know what exactly happened to my daughter that night,” the father says.

Kolkata Police, he says, had started a probe but he felt the investigation was “very wrong” and so moved Calcutta High Court seeking a “good agency”.

“Then the case was handed over to the CBI. It has been four months. But we are yet to get a solution. We are living in deep agony,” he said.

The father says: “Whatever my daughter achieved was on her merit. But the predator (darinda) destroyed everything that night. Whatever I did (for my daughter) has also been destroyed now.”
