The CBI arrested Sandip Ghosh on Monday for alleged financial irregularities during his time as the principal of RG Kar medical college.

Students have accused him of creating an atmosphere of intimidation, violence, and rampant favouritism. They claimed he failed students who questioned his mismanagement and refused to support the ruling party. Another serious accusation involves his failure to ensure adequate security at the girls’ hostel.

On Thursday, a letter was shared on the internet, alleging that Ghosh ordered renovations in the nearby areas of the seminar hall a day after the incident. This led to further outrage, given many people believe this renovation led to tampering of the crime scene.
