Parents in school for Children’s Day

Games, gifts, activities...students of the play school Nurturing Minds gathered for a fun-filled Children’s Day on their BB Block campus and that too with their guardians.

Elora Saha Hussain was seen drawing a house alongside her mother. “This is wonderful; we do not always get the time to visit our children’s school or spend time like this. But today, doing art and activities together is also working as a stress buster for us,” said Aditi Saha, mother of three-year-old Elora.

Four-year-old Jaisvi Jha was thrilled to finish the game of getting ready for school with her mother in under one minute. “This was a fun game; we always do this at home. Today I was standing quietly, but at home I keep running around,” remarked the nursery student.

Samriddhi Karmakar, dressed in a cute pink dress and pink-and-green hairband, was excited when her mother won the toothpick ball-shifting game, earning her a pink purse. “I played all the games; it was so much fun! But this pink purse is the best!” smiled the three-year-old.

Anantini Dhar had come with her grandmother. “I am visiting for a few days, and she asked me to come with her today. It is lovely watching them play different games and enjoying one other’s company,” said Manjari Pandit, her grandmother.

The school also distributed clothes and stationery for needy children through an NGO called Home for You.

“Every year we celebrate Children’s Day on campus with such activities. But we ensure activities for both children and parents,” stated school principal Soma Chandra.
