Highest show attendance for kennel club

This year North Calcutta Kennel Club conducted what was perhaps their most successful show in their 28-year-old history

This year North Calcutta Kennel Club conducted what was perhaps their most successful show in their 28-year-old history.

“We set a record of sorts,” said secretary Pallab Saha. “We usually get between 250 and 300 registrations but this time we got 390 and among them, at most 10 were absent. Usually, the number of absentees is much higher. This has been one of the most successful dog shows of the year.”

One reason for this was that it was the first pointed show of the season in town. “We had international judges, attractive prizes for all participants and provided common sitting space for 70 to 80 dogs and their guardians free of cost,” said Saha.

The best in show prizes in the three rings went to Kaushik Ghosh’s German Shepherd Dog (GSD), Rana Ray’s GSD, and Bhubaneswar–based Siddharth Mohanty’s Australian Shepherd. Here are some more dogs that won hearts-
