The deposition of the senior doctor from the department of forensic medicine and toxicology at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital, who with other doctors conducted the post-mortem of the postgraduate trainee who was raped and murdered, was completed before the Sealdah court on Monday.
This was the second consecutive day that he deposed before the court and faced cross-examination. His deposition could not be completed on Monday.
Three police personnel attached to Tala police station are likely to depose before the court on Wednesday.
Sources in the CBI said that the senior doctor had jointly conducted the post-mortem of the postgraduate trainee doctor who was raped and murdered on the night between August 8 and morning of August 9.
According to the chargesheet submitted by the central agency, the doctor along with other doctors had conducted the post-mortem between 6.10pm and 7.10pm on August 9. The entire process was videographed.
The lone accused who has been chargesheeted in the rape and murder case — Sanjay Roy — was not brought to the court following a court order.
He heard the proceedings from the jail virtually on Tuesday.
Earlier, when he was brought to the court to hear depositions, Roy had named senior police officers and accused them of framing him.
Thereafter, the number of vehicles in the convoy that transported him to the Sealdah court and back to Presidency Correctional Home was increased.
The accused was made to travel in a vehicle with tinted glass.
On one occasion, cops had banged on Roy’s vehicle on the Sealdah court premises so reporters could not hear his words.
Later, the court allowed a prayer by the prosecution to produce him virtually in the court.
