The nurse was walking towards a bus stand opposite New Town police station after her shift when she was attacked, police said.

According to the officer, the nurse was walking on the service road in front of the hospital.

“Mollah who was on a bicycle started following her and made several lewd remarks. Initially, the woman ignored the catcalls. Mollah then cycled closer to her and groped her. As she shouted for help Mollah pedalled away,” said the officer.

The nurse then alerted her colleagues at the hospital who reached the bus stand. The nurse and her colleagues then went to the Techno City police station where she filed a
complaint.

The cops started scanning CCTV footage from the area.

“We started scanning the footage and spotted the man on the bicycle. We then activated our source network and managed to identify him,” the officer said.

Mollah was arrested from a spot near his house in Patharghata late on Monday, the police said.
