The Calcutta Metro on Friday said that it will operate eight more trains along the Dakshineswar-New Garia corridor on August 18 morning to help candidates for the West Bengal Civil Service (WBCS) examinations travel smoothly.
On other Sundays, the Metro authorities run 130 trains.
Sixty-nine pairs of trains will ply along both up and down lines each on that day from 7 am on August 18, instead of 9 am on other Sundays, from Dumdum in the north and New Garia in the southern part of the state.
From Dakshineswar, the first Kavi Subhas-bound train will start at 7:15 am, instead of 9 am.
On this stretch, eight services (4 up and 4 down) will be available on that day between 7 am to 9 am at an interval of 30 minutes..
Exams for both WBCS (Executive) and WBCS (Main) will be held on August 18.
